Hermie, a 12-year-old American bison, did not recover after anesthesia, so he was humanly euthanized Monday morniing, according to the Facebook post.
The Columbus Zoo and Aquarium announced the death of 12-year-old bison Hermie Tuesday afternoon.
Hermie was scheduled to leave the Columbus Zoo and make an overnight stop at The Wilds before going to a new home at another Midwest zoo. He was anesthetized Monday so he could be moved into the trailer.
