Harris was given a hero’s welcome inside FedEx Field on Sunday as fans chanted “Thank You, Josh” toward the owner’s box as he pointed back at them in appreciation.
Harris’ takeover of the Commanders has renewed the love affair in the nation’s capital with its NFL franchise.That included NBA stars Joel Embiid and Kevin Durant, who is a noted Commanders fan.
“Oh man, it was amazing coming out there. I got chills standing for the National Anthem,” Commanders’ wide receiver. “To hear the roar of the crowd, I’ve been here five years now and that’s the loudest I’ve probably heard it. It’s good to get a win to hopefully keep that momentum going so the next time we’re at home we can have a similar outcome.”
