Con goles de Clarisse Le Bihan y Madison Hammond, Angel City logró una victoria el domingo por 2-1 sobre el OL Reign, su primer triunfo sobre el equipo de Seattle ante 22,000 aficionados en el BMO Stadium de Los Ángeles.
El Reign perdió por cuarta vez en sus últimos cinco partidos y sólo han marcado dos goles en ese periodo. El Reign nunca había perdido ante el Angel City FC hasta el domingo. La derrota marcó la primera racha de tres partidos perdidos del club bajo la dirección de la entrenadora Laura Harvey desde 2013.
El triunfo deja al Angel City con 21 puntos en 17 partidos, en la novena posición, a tres del OL Reign, que se quedó en el último puesto de playoff con 24 unidades. Solamente quedan cinco partidos en la temporada regular. El equipo juega el próximo viernes, 1 de septiembre, en Kansas City a las 5 p.m. El partido se transmitirá en directo a través de Paramount+.
