Cookie chain to replace popular, recently closed N.J. ice creamery

Chip City’s Ridgewood store is expected to open in early 2023, although an exact opening date has yet to be determined.

“We feel like we have a very good following here in New York and a lot of people are already aware of the brand in New Jersey,” Theodore Gailas, co-founder of Chip City told NJ Advance Media. “Ridgewood is a nice neighborhood that, we felt, drew some similarities to the neighborhoods we are already at in New York.”

Chip City, a New York City-based specialty cookie shop, is preparing to open its first New Jersey locations in Ridgewood, Hoboken and Newark. “We also have two other stores planned to open in New Jersey,” Gailas said. “One is in Hoboken at 113 Washington St., and the other one is going to be in Newark at the Gateway Center.”Chip City will continue to add stores in The Big Apple in September with new spots coming toThe company also has more stores planned to open in Florida, which already has 12 locations, according to Gailas.
