A persistent marine layer is keeping temperatures down.
A deep marine layer will keep temperatures cool for the rest of the weekend across the Bay Area, with the heat expected to return on Monday.
Eastern parts of the Bay will stay in the mid-90s, with San Jose to reach the mid-80s, according to National Weather Service meteorologist Brooke Bingaham. Coastal regions will see temperatures in the mid to upper 60s, with the Bay Shoreline to reach the upper 70s to low 80s. The marine layer will dissipate on Monday, with temperatures expected to again rise moderately. Inland regions will face temperatures in the high 90s while parts of San Jose will reach the lower 90s.
