“The coronavirus is a major public health situation in China. Our top priority is the health and safety of our employees and customers. That includes providing meals to health care workers and medical screenings for customers who come into some of the brand’s restaurants, Kempczinski said during the call. In addition to ensuring its employees and customers are “safe and taken care of,” Kempczinski calls China a critical strategic market for McDonald’s.
