China could experience a so-called 'Black Swan effect' in the first half of the calendar year due to the new coronavirus outbreak that has killed more than 1,000 people on the mainland.
China's smartphone shipments for the three months ending in March could decline by more than 30% from the same period a year ago, International Data Corporation said on Tuesday.
Research firm Canalys earlier this month predicted smartphone shipments in China could drop by as much as 50% for the first quarter.
