Leaders who view the Great Resignation as a momentary protest do themselves, their employees and their organizations a disservice. However long the actual exodus may continue, the movement will have a lasting impact in at least one aspect: It represents a new social psyche prioritizing mutual consideration, benefit and empowerment.
Demonstrating empathy, communicating authentically and fostering continued connections and opportunities is how leaders will attract and retain employees and drive their organizations toward a revival in trust, productivity and profitability. I believe the employers who don’t prioritize these efforts will struggle to find and retain employees.
