Those in NFL circles have been impressed with the 26-year-old’s production, seeing him as one of the top tight ends in the league. A recent ESPN survey of league executives, coaches and players ranked Schultz as the eighth best player in his position , sitting one spot behind T.J. Hockenson of the Detroit Lions and ahead of the Buffalo Bills’ Dawson Knox.
“He can handle multiple roles — good hands, competitive blocker, can bend to get in and out of breaks. Not as dynamic as others on this list but really solid,” an NFC offensive coach told ESPN.
