CTA bus and train service was affected Thursday as Chicago police bomb technicians investigated a suspicious object on the North Side.
Just after 2 p.m., the Chicago Office of Emergency Management and Communications said Chicago police were investigating a suspicious object at Bryn Mawr Avenue and Broadway in the city's Edgewater neighborhood.
Soon after, Chicago police said bomb technicians rendered the object safe, and an all-clear was issued.Just before 10:45 a.m., the CTA said Red and Purple Line trains were standing near Bryn Mawr due to police activity. No. 36 Broadway buses were also rerouted during the incident.This is a developing story; check back with ABC7 Chicago for updates.
