A Montgomery County sheriff’s deputy is fighting for his life after a single-vehicle crash.

Deputy Jermyius Young has been with the sheriff’s office since he was 18Published: Apr. 4, 2024 at 10:41 AM CDT MONTGOMERY , Ala. - A Montgomery County sheriff’s deputy who was rushed to a Montgomery area hospital in critical condition has since been transported to UAB Hospital in Birmingham for advanced treatment, according to Sheriff Derrick Cunningham.

Young, 21, was initially taken to Baptist Medical Center South in critical condition before being taken to UAB. The sheriff said he got the call he never wants to answer Wednesday and quickly made his way to the hospital to be with the deputy and his family.
