, Luke took responsibility for his actions. He admitted that he struggled with how his father blamed him for being in the car when his mother died. Luke, however, refused to pretend anymore that he distracted his mother. He told Brent that the crash came from their mother drinking and driving behind the wheel.
After Brent left the dock thinking his younger brother drowned, Luke washed up still alive. Isabella saw him asking for help but instead killed him herself.After returning Luke's message, Brent showed up at the dock and subsequently assumed he was to blame for Luke's death. He admitted to their father about the fight that led to Luke getting submerged in the lake. Steve, for his part, covered the situation up and didn't turn in Brent.
Brent, however, turned on Steve when he confronted his father about their mother's death. Steve refused to admit the truth so Brent took matters into his own hands. The patriarch of the Chambers family was arrested as an accessory to Luke's murder.
