Upgrade your home wireless network to the latest Wi-Fi 6 standard with the affordable D-Link Eagle Pro AI M15 nest system.
Although the M15 kit is designed for use with D-Link’s Eagle Pro R15 router, it can work with almost any router. With older routers that aren’t Wi-Fi 6 compatible, the wireless feature can be turned off and one of the M15 nodes can be connected to the old router using the supplied Ethernet cable. In this configuration, the main M15 node functions as a router for the mesh and the old router is merely used for its cable or VDSL modem to get the Internet broadband signal.
It took me just a few minutes to get all three of the M15 nodes up and running as a mesh and soon my entire home was bathed in the latest and fastest AX1500 wireless networking protocol. The speed easily outstripped my broadband service. The mesh optimizes itself, setting the fastest and clearest wireless channels, harnessing both the 2.4 and 5GHz bands to deliver the fastest data speeds possible.
Although the D-Link Eagle Pro AI M15 mesh units are sold as a set of three, further units or Eagle Pro AI E15 wireless extenders can easily be added to scale the network up. The more the network spreads out physically, the slower it will become because it must shunt the data around multiple nodes. However, strategically positioning each node around the home will optimize the network coverage and the smartphone app helps to get the positioning correct.
Once the mesh system is optimized using AI functions, it can be forgotten and all the user needs to do is to log on to the one network name. Then the mesh will automatically switch users back and forth between the different mesh nodes with the strongest signal as the user moves around the home or office. Each node can handle four simultaneous data streams, 1024 QAM, BSS-colouring and MU-MIMO to ensure client devices always get the best-quality connection possible.
, where small data packets destined for multiple devices are transmitted together, making the system ideal for serving bandwidth-hungry devices.Using the Eagle Pro AI R15 router and the three M15 mesh units will provide a fast and efficient Wi-Fi 6 AX1500 network that can serve up to 100 client devices and come with handy tools like parental controls and being able to set up a guest network. Setting up the mesh network is very easy, thanks to the Eagle Pro AI smartphone app.
