PRETORIA - The Democratic Alliance is calling for the Independent Electoral Commission to investigate the ANC's alleged involvement in recent service-delivery protests. DA leader Mmusi Maimane met with electoral officials on Wednesday to discuss his party's complaint against the ANC. Maimane is calling on the electoral body to ensure there is no foul play ahead of the May 8 election.“What’s become crucial is that the IEC has given me a guarantee that there is adequate security process that they will undertake around the issue,” said Maimane.

“They have given me an undertaking that there will be an investigation that goes to ensure that on voting day and the day leading towards the election itself that there is safety so that people can canvas.”
