Hopkins snagged AFC special teams player of the week last week and put up 15 points in the Browns thriller over the Colts, all while nailing his longest kick of his career.
“Honestly I don’t put too much thought in accomplishments either,” said Hopkins. “I want to be the best version of myself that I can be so I want make a lot more then I miss. I want to be a great teammate. I want to try to be someone that serves my teammates in whatever way I can. Make them the best versions on themselves.”The position is mostly overlooked, until it comes time for that game-clenching kick.
“That’s goes back to me saying I wouldn’t put too much stock into thoughts of people I wouldn’t take advice from,” said Hopkins. “I try to take advice in my inner circle people, I really value their opinion. I value our fan base, we couldn’t do what we do without them, but at the same time, just like I don’t know the ins and out of the jobs they may be doing - the difficulties they’re encountering - they don’t know what it’s like to kick in Cleveland.
“I was introduced to who Jesus was when I was younger, but my vision of him was more of a sandal wearing hippy Jesus who was patting kids on the head,” said Hopkins. “You know there wasn’t much depth and then as I got older it was a deeper picture of who Jesus was; what he required what he did for us. As I was exposed more to that, I heard the gospel for the first time. I had ears to hear that I wasn’t good enough on my own.
Dustin said it was important for Wake, who is on the spectrum, to stay home and keep his routine and therapy.
