Canada’s largest energy company scooped up renewable energy giant Tri Global to boost its renewable portfolio.

, is being sold to Canada’s largest energy company, Enbridge, for $270 million.

Tri Global Energy founder John Billingsley, shown in 2014, said he established the company to improve they way wind energy projects are developed. Enbridge said in its announcement that up to an additional $50 million in payments could be made if future Tri Global projects are executed successfully. Enbridge CEO Al Monaco said in a statement that the company was attracted to Tri Global’s “significant development pipeline.”
