According to police, the assault on the toddler caused 'significant physical injuries.'
A Wiconisco Township man assaulted a 2-year-old girl around Halloween, resulting in the child’s hospitalization, according to state police.
33-year-old David Christopher Thomas is accused of assaulting the girl at a home on Pottsville Street, between Oct. 31 and Nov. 4, according to state police. The assault caused ‘significant physical injuries.” The toddler was taken to Hershey Medical Center where she was treated, and authorities including the Dauphin County District Attorney’s Office and the Child Abuse Protection Unit got involved.Thomas is charged with aggravated assault of a child younger than 6, strangulation and endangering the welfare of a child, according to police.
On Tuesday, Thomas was arrested but bail information was not immediately available. A preliminary hearing is scheduled for Dec. 12.
