'There were more people that I didn't know helping me out than people I knew...'
In a new interview on New Music Daily with Zane Lowe on Apple Music’s Beats 1,opened up about her time in the hospital following her overdose, and how she's worked to cut negative people out of her life so she can better heal. Ahead of her performance at the Grammys, Demi said the song she's performing at the award show gave her hope while she was recovering in the hospital. Looking toward the future, she said, is a way she copes when times get hard.
While she said music is a coping mechanism for her, Demi also said that you have to take initiative to get better. As she was recovering, Demi said she relied on strangers the most to get her through her"I would say there were more people that I didn't know helping me out than people I knew because I had all of those people people in my life already, I probably wouldn't have ended up where I did," she said.
