The city of Denver is preparing for an influx of migrants as a federal asylum rule is set to expire in a few days

Title 42, a public health order that was put into place during the COVID-19 pandemic, limited thousands from entering the United States. But the order is set to be lifted this Thursday.

Beginning Monday, the City and County of Denver will limit who receives emergency shelter services. In a statement, the city said it will follow federal guidelines to provide emergency shelter only to newly arriving migrants who have been encountered by U.S. immigration officials. Denver7 spoke with local organizations that have been helping the migrant situation for the past few months.
