Consider this your reminder to always check your DMs. That’s the lesson Gabriela Trujillo, the founder of, learned after receiving a DM from Disney's VP of Global Marketing early last year. The DM talked about a potential partnership with the famed animation company. Initially, Trujillo thought someone was messing with her, but the message was legit and it became the first stepping stone towards a magical collection inspired by Disney's new movie. As of November 18, the cat's finally out of the bag — but the limited-edition collection has been in the making for well over a year.

“When we were making the collection, the movie hadn’t even been done yet, they were still sketching the characters, the concept, so it was very cool to see it come alive,” Trujillo tells. The 13-piece collection, which includes a stunning eyeshadow palette with foiled and ultra-pigmented shades, waterproof liquid liners , and a trio of vegan, cruelty-free brushes, marks the first time Disney’s partnered with an indie Latinx-owned brand. “I think it’s really a sign of the times.
