The Last last war.
Summary SCREENRANT VIDEO OF THE DAY SCROLL TO CONTINUE WITH CONTENT In the Doctor Who canon, the fallout from the Last Great Time War led to another brutal and bloody conflict, one not seen on television. Although it largely happened off-camera, the Last Great Time War is one of the biggest events in the franchise’s 60-year history, a massive, universe-spanning war between the Time Lords and the Daleks.
Doctor Who: The Ninth Doctor #4 is written by Cavan Scott and drawn and colored by Blair Shedd. The Doctor, Jack Harkness and Rose Tyler have met the mysterious Union, who are locked in a war with the Lects. The Union reveals their origins to the Doctor: that, prior to the Last Great Time War, they were scholars, scientists and artists, but the Time War ended all of that. The Union suffered heavy losses–but then learned another battle was brewing.
The Last Great Time War is Doctor Who's Biggest Event The Last Great Time War, happening sometime between 1996’s made-for-TV movie and the return of Doctor Who to television in 2005. The war, between the Time Lords of Gallifrey and the Daleks of Skaro, was massive, encompassing the entire universe. On the Last Day of the War, both the Daleks and the Time Lords were seemingly annihilated, and in the War’s wake, the Doctor was the last remaining Time Lord.
The Last Great Time War Impacted More Than the Time Lords And now, the Doctor Who comics have revealed another bit of fallout from the Last Great Time War. The Time Lords actively monitored the time stream, but once they were gone, the position was open for grabs–leading to another war. The issue did not go into great depth on this war, but fans learn that somehow both the Cybermen and the Sontarans were involved–two races have been at odds with both the Time Lords and particularly the Doctor.
The Last Great Time War was one of Doctor Who’s biggest moments, even if it happened off camera. The universe, and time itself, shook in the wake of the War–and some species, such as the Union, lost everything. This in itself was bad enough, but the war that came afterward, to fill the vacancy left by the Time Lords, was just as terrible.
