Historically a slow starter, Turner has struggled again this April. But he has shown signs of coming out of it just as May arrives.
LOS ANGELES — It happens every April.
Even in 2020 when the season didn’t start until July, Turner hit .250 with just one home run in his first 18 games. “It always looks way worse when your slow month is in April,” Turner said earlier this week. “The board looks a lot uglier. If you have a couple great months and then scuffle a little bit in June or July, it might not look as bad because you have some numbers up there. But that’s what I’m going through right now and I’m just gonna keep working to grind through it. The calendar’s getting ready to turn, so I think definitely looking forward to that.
“Trea and I hit early on the field and just had some ideas to try to get my body in a better position,” Justin Turner said.
