'People usually [say] 'Dolly rocks' or 'you rock' or 'you’re a rock star,'' the singer said about her recent induction to the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame. 'Now I’m going to have to take it literally!'

effect when she was inducted into the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame this week despite previously asking that she not even be considered.Billboard

, “I feel great. I feel honored that all the people that voted for me did. And I appreciate the Rock & Roll Hall of Fame people for staying there with me. I never meant to cause trouble or stir up any controversy.” She added, “People usually [say] ‘Dolly rocks’ or ‘you rock’ or ‘you’re a rock star.’ I thought they just meant that I was cool, and I took that as a great compliment.

to whom she jokingly replied, “Well, I guess I'm a rock star now.” She said she's not sure yet if she's going to attend the induction ceremony in November, but if she does, “I’m going to sing the hardest style rock ‘n’ roll song I could ever muster up just to show that I can do it...I’ll do something to make it fun and to be forgiven for my mistake. To earn my title.”

The music legend explained that the nomination has also got her thinking seriously about releasing a rock album at some point in the near future. “I’ve always wanted to do the song ‘Satisfaction.’ That’s one of my husband’s favorite songs. And I may have to drag’s guys up there to help me sing it,” she said. “I’m hoping we’re both around long enough when I get to doing this record that he’ll come sing with me, and I may have to use The Rolling Stones to play behind me...

in reply that read, “In addition to her incredible talent as an artist, her humility is another reason Dolly is a beloved icon by millions of fans around the world...We are in awe of Dolly’s brilliant talent and pioneering spirit and are proud to have nominated her for induction into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame.”
