Diane Johnstone and Eric Shea said they were excited to see something being built on the land next to theirs, but developers got closer and closer to their home."It took part of the landscaping fence and some rocks with it," Shea said. "They basically cut right up to our property line and straight down.
"When Diane and Eric first sent me the pictures, I did literally jump out of a meeting because I was shocked," she said. "I think any professional person in the building industry would be disturbed by what they see here." Since the original photos, the developers moved a lot of dirt and soil up against the drop-off at the excavation site."Draper City’s responsibility is to review and verify all permit submittals as regulated by the construction codes as amended and adopted by the State of Utah.
"They didn't think this was super urgent the way it sits right now, but they're just giving us their calculations on how to move forward," he said.
