A man suspected of driving under the influence of intoxicants crashed into a home in Keizer Saturday morning, killing a woman inside the house.

Keizer police arrested Andrew Modine, 41, after responding to the site of the crash in the 5600 block of Trail Avenue Northeast at about 7:40 a.m. Saturday. Two people were inside the home at the time of the crash. Moira Hughes, 67, died at the scene, police said. George Heitz, 63, was transported to a nearby hospital with serious injuries, but is in stable condition, police said.
Modine was previously convicted of driving under the influence of intoxicants and failing to perform the duties of a driver to an injured person in 2016. He was convicted after his brother Thomas Modine died after being found unconscious in the roadway near the 900 block of Ventura Avenue North in Keizer.
