The pursuit started with an officer in Steelton and later involved officers from at least three additional police agencies who could not keep up with the suspect, who was driving a 2017 Dodge Challenger withIt’s unclear why Steelton police originally tried to pull over the driver at 11:23 p.m., but they lost him shortly after the driver got onto Interstate 83 and discontinued their pursuit near the Bass Pro Shops, according to police.
“He never saw the car again,” Kosheba said, adding that video footage from police cars showed the car was traveling at dangerously high speeds. Susqhehanna Township police rolled a set of spike strips across Progress Avenue in the 300 block, a device designed to gradually deflate tires after contact, but it’s unclear if the suspect’s tires were damaged by the spikes, Kosheba said.
