The driver of the Toyota Camry or Yaris with expired plate M441831 is still on the loose after striking the girl before running her over, police said.
CLEVELAND, Ohio - Cleveland Police confirmed a 5-year-old girl is in critical condition after she was hit by a car that drove off from the scene.
The crash happened in the 3120 block of West 50th Street around 6:15 p.m. on April 23, Sgt. Jennifer Ciaccia said. Ciaccia said the girl ran out between two parked cars on the west side of West 50th Street heading east. The car was heading northbound on West 50th Street and struck the girl, launching her forward and onto the ground in front of the car, Ciaccia described.Ciaccia said the driver did not stop and the car, possibly a Toyota Camry or Yaris with expired plate M441831, was last seen going west on Fanta Avenue then south on West 50th Street.EMS took the girl to MetroHealth Medical Center in critical condition, according to Ciaccia.Editors Note: Sgt.
