Coming off a humbling loss to the Knicks, Dallas was able to control the game in Houston without two starters.
Wardrobe change coincidence or not, the Mavericks weathered their short-handed rotation and eerie history between the teams, personnel and this date for a sixth victory in their last seven games and 12th over their last 15. With less than a month before the playoffs, Kidd wanted to give them some rest and planned for them to return Sunday afternoon in Boston.
The list includes MVP-worthy players, including Giannis Antetokounmpo, Joel Embiid, LeBron James and Nikola Jokic, plus former frontcourt mate Kristaps Porzingis — and now the Mavericks’ hard-charging, 6-10 center. Time for Doncic reinforcement — five points, two rebounds and an assist — before he could sit for good a few minutes later.
