It will be up to Biden to persuade voters that the job market has actually grown substantially under his watch. Employers added 372,000 new jobs in June — more than double the number of new jobs needed in a stable, growing economy — and the unemployment rate remains 3.6 percent, close to a record low. A little economic luck could be a timely salve for Biden and Democrats. Gas prices are finally falling,and could fall even further as oil prices plummet.
