Moore County’s struggle is a bleak reminder how a few people can harm many, and why we must remain vigilant just as power companies must redouble their efforts to harden the grid. And the North Carolina incident isn’t the only recent such attack. In November, vandals damaged a substation in Clackamas, Ore. and several others in Washington.

“This includes partnering with other utilities across our industry as well as local and federal law enforcement to monitor, understand the threats we face every day.”
