Elizabeth Murdaugh, mother of Alex and wife of late Randolph III, dies in hospice care Elizabeth "Libby" Alexander Murdaugh, mother of Alex Murdaugh and wife of the late Randolph Murdaugh III, died Tuesday afternoon, according to Peeples-Rhoden Funeral Home.
Her online obituary reads "Mrs. Elizabeth "Libby" Alexander Murdaugh, beloved wife for sixty years of the late Randolph Murdaugh III, passed away peacefully Tuesday afternoon, March 19, 2024 at her home under hospice care.
