Legendary rocker Elton John wrapped up his final tour in Stockholm Saturday night, telling fans around the globe they’d forever remain in his “head, heart and soul.”
“It’s been my lifeblood to play for you guys, and you’ve been absolutely magnificent,” John told the audience at Sweden’s Tele2 Arena,The 76-year-old “Candle in the Wind” singer has said his Farewell Yellow Brick Road tour — which began in North America five years ago and led to more than 300 shows worldwide — would be his last.
Meanwhile, John heaped compliments on his band and crew, some of whom have been with him for years, the BBC noted.The farewell tour was one of the highest-grossing tours in history, reaching ticket sales of more than $900 million, according to Billboard magazine.“Tonight is the final night,” he wrote on an Instagram post on Saturday.“I want to appreciate my family, my sons, my husband, everything,” he said. “I’ve earned it.
