9000 South is closed in both directions from 3400 West to Bangerter Highway after a gas pipeline leak.
According to the West Jordan Fire Department, the gas leak was caused by a construction company that hit a line when running a new pipe under 9000 S.Fire crews are on standby in the area. UDOT officials estimated it could stay that way until 11 a.m., impacting the entire Friday morning commute in a busy part of Salt Lake County.
