A woman who was shot while working at a Dollar Tree in Lawrence on Monday is not expected to survive her injuries, police said. Lawrence PD said a male suspect, who is a former employee of the store, is in custody.
According to police, the victim is an employee at the store. The incident is believed to be isolated at this time.
Lawrence Police Department Chief Gary Woodruff says a male suspect in in custody. The suspect is a former employee of the store."People need to find a better way to resolve conflict then resorting to deadly violence. The decision to resort to deadly violence is life-altering both ways," Chief Gary Woodruff said.
The motive for the shooting is still under investigation. Lawrence Police ask that anyone with information reach out to the department.
