New polling released Thursday by Data for Progress showed that 42 percent of Republican voters"somewhat" or"strongly" support the large social and climate spending package. Overall, 64 percent of Americans support the package, with majorities ofSome of the specific provisions of the legislation are even supported by a majority of GOP voters.

Many Republicans also say they support some of the ways the bill could be paid for. A majority of GOP voters approve of a 15 percent tax on profits that U.S. corporations make overseas. Fifty-three percent support raising income taxes for those who earn more than $10 million a year. Forty-two percent of Republican voters"somewhat" or"strongly" support President Joe Biden's sweeping social and climate spending package, polling shows.
