ESPN, Charter end stalemate, reach deal ahead of Monday Night Football

ESPN and Charter announced a new carriage agreement on Monday, just hours ahead of Aaron Rodgers’s debut with the New York Jets. The deal will ensure that nearly 1 million homes in New York City will have ESPN and ABC after the channelsThe blackout interrupted Charter’s nearly 15 million cable customers nationwide. The two sides announced their new agreement Monday afternoon, highlighting terms that will give Charter cable customers access to Disney’s streaming platforms. The announcement said Charter will soon be able to offer an ad-supported Disney Plus and ESPN Plus to its customers, as well as the new ESPN direct-to-consumer product, whenever it launches.
