Evacuations have been lifted for those who live in a condominium complex in Mira Mesa after a car crash caused a gas leak Wednesday afternoon.
A car crash between two to three cars at Gold Coast Drive and Black Mountain Road severed one of the gas lines at around 3:18 p.m. when one of those cars hit a gas meter, fire officials said. "A black SUV crashed into a gas meter and exposed the gas meter line," said SDFD Battalion Chief Erik Windsor.
As of 5 p.m., 20 units had been evacuated in the condominium complex and an evacuation center was set up. At Around 6:45 p.m., all evacuations were lifted in the area.
