The Harry Potter TV remake will have a chance to fix the original movies' mistakes—such as the many ways Harry's character was wrongfully changed.
The Boy Who Lived is the hero of the Harry Potter books and movies, but the latter made significant personality changes that ruined his character. Of course, Harry is beloved in either form, and his part in defeating Voldemort remains the same from the source to the adaptation. However, there were aspects of his character that made him unique in the Harry Potter books—many of which were altered, changed, or assigned to entirely different characters for the films.
The version of Harry in the Harry Potter movies was never quite this cheeky, which meant his relationships with characters like Snape felt drastically different. To the professor, Harry's sassiness made him exactly like James Potter, though really, the boy's quick wit only made him more like Lily. These kinds of nuances were lost in the movie, where Harry barely even rolled his eyes like a typical teenager.
3 Harry Potter Was Less Competent With Magic In The Movies Despite being the story's hero, Harry never seemed to do much magic in the Harry Potter movies. In fact, he didn't cast a single spell for all of the Harry Potter and the Philosopher's Stone film. Later, he mastered a Patronus quickly enough, but aside from that, he was never seen to use any particularly impressive magic.
