McGregor is set to play Count Alexander Rostov, who "in the aftermath of the Russian Revolution, finds that his gilded past places him on the wrong side of history," the network states in an Aug. 25 announcement.

However, the description further teases that, through this journey, Rostov will discover "the true value of friendship, family and love."as he's also serving as an executive producer, an opportunity he is thrilled about. "It's an amazing, wonderful story," McGregor noted in a statement, "and I am very excited to get to play such a fabulous role."
