Former Marshall standout Malik Hornsby is heading closer to home at Texas State after two seasons at Arkansas.Malik Hornsby, a former star quarterback at Fort Bend Marshall, officially found a new home Monday morning.
The Arkansas transfer announced his intentions to join the Texas State program under new head coach G.J. Kline. Hornsby was rated as a four-star recruit from the 2020 class by 247Sports. He was considered the No. 4 dual-threat quarterback in the country and the No. 14 overall player in the state of Texas.During his time at Arkansas, Hornsby appeared in one game as a true freshman and was redshirted in 2021. He played in eight games in 2022 and completed 13-of-27 passes for 268 yards with one touchdown and two interceptions. He also rushed for 172 yards.
Hornsby led Marshall to a combined 29-3 record during his junior and senior seasons in high school. He passed for 4,248 yards and 52 touchdowns and rushed for 2,359 yards and 30 scores during that span.
