A 19-year-old Montgomery County man and former Splendora High School football player was sentenced for the January 2020 sexual assault of a classmate on campus.
Austin David-Allen Elliott, 19, of Splendora, was convicted and sentenced on two counts of sexual assault, a second-degree felony.
Elliott was a 17-year-old student at the high school when on Jan. 10, 2020 he sexually assaulted a female classmate as she slept during a free period, according to a Nov. 17 probable cause affidavit filed by a Splendora Independent School District Police sergeant. According to an arrest warrant, Elliott admitted to an officer he had placed his hand on the girl's hand and touched her thigh.
Marcus Schulz was both Splendora High’s head football coach and Splendora ISD’s athletic director at the time sexual assault allegations were made against Elliott. When reached by phone on Wednesday, Schulz said he was never informed about the criminal investigation of Elliott.
