Instead, a staffer told her there wouldn't be an opening for three more weeks.
“A lot of times, people who are coming from a CPC are really frustrated and have had a lot of their time wasted,” Grabowski said. “People knew they wanted to have an abortion and had weeks of their time wasted and are getting a longer or more expensive procedure, or are no longer eligible for medication abortion.”
The Alliance report also found that CPCs target pregnant people of color, who are disproportionately likely to have higher, according to the CDC. CPCs “blackwash” their websites and publish information in multiple languages to appeal to communities of color, Maye Quade said, adding that 25% of people served at CPCs in Minnesota were Black.
