air-safety regulators are discussing a higher priority for a federal pilot-alert system thatBilly Nolen, the Federal Aviation Administration’s acting chief, said the agency’s staff was considering whether to classify the alert system as safety-critical, rather than its current role as mission support. He said such a change would require increased controls and “added levels of redundancy.”
