The Fairbanks Area Narcotics Team and Fairbanks Criminal Suppression Unit served a search warrant Tuesday following a monthslong investigation. They subsequently located narcotics valued between $1,067,000 and $1,500,000 and stolen goods.
FAIRBANKS, Alaska - An Interior man has been arrested after a search of his home revealed a cache of drugs and stolen goods.
Fairbanks resident Kevin Shank, 46, was arrested on charges of misconduct involving a controlled substance and misconduct involving weapons. The Fairbanks Area Narcotics Team and Fairbanks Criminal Suppression Unit served the search warrant on Shank Tuesday following a monthslong investigation. They subsequently located narcotics valued between $1,067,000 and $1,500,000 which included over 11 kilograms of methamphetamine, 1 kilogram of fentanyl powder, over 2 kilograms of M-130 fentanyl pills, 1 kilogram of cocaine, 30 grams of heroin, several suboxone strips, and a glass jar of Xanax pills.
In addition, Shank was found to have in his possession 7 firearms, 2 prohibited suppressors, a smoke grenade, several 5-gallon buckets and totes of marijuana, pieces of stolen property, approximately $150,000 worth of suspected stolen tools, and thousands of dollars of new clothing. The Fairbanks Area Narcotics Team Statewide Drug Enforcement Unit is comprised of members of the Alaska State Troopers, Drug Enforcement Administration, Fairbanks Police Department, Fairbanks Airport Police, North Pole Police, North Slope Borough Police, and the Federal Bureau of Investigations.
