Arizona football notes: Just like the last game vs. Oregon and the next one vs. USC, the Wildcats are about to face a quarterback and a play caller who know each other well.

Penix isn’t as much of a threat to run as Nix, but the Washington and Oregon offenses share a trait that could prove troublesome for Arizona’s struggling defense.
McCown, a true freshman, was making his second career start. Penix has started 23 games, including 12 under DeBoer. Redshirt freshman Kolbe Cage, a converted safety, has started the first six game at Will ’backer. Cage has 24 tackles, two pass breakups and a fumble recovery but is Arizona’s lowest-rated defender per PFF’s grading system.
"He was drilling our linemen giving up a hundred pounds," offensive coordinator Brennan Carroll said."He's a stud. I’m excited to see him play."
