Federal Way Mayor Jim Ferrell said patrons came out of the theater after a performance Saturday night to find their cars damaged. Only one car had an item stolen from inside. In a letter emailed Monday to Sen. Claire Wilson, Rep. Jamila Taylor and Rep. Kristine Reeves, Federal Way police Chief Andy J. Hwang asked the state to consider modifications to its pursuit law to "safeguard the community" and make it the No. 1 priority.
But when the suspects saw the patrol vehicle, they sped away, heading east on South 348th St. and then south on I-5, avoiding capture.
