FERC gridlock around gas pipelines, LNG eases

The incident left some wondering whether FERC’s days as an independent arbiter on energy projects, free of the politics that govern much of Washington, were numbered. Phillips is already facing pushback from environmentalists who argue the construction of LNG terminals is likely to increase greenhouse gas emissions from natural gas at a time scientists say the planet needs to begin reducing emissions.
