Field of Honor flags at Veterans Park in Arlington commemorate 9/11, recognize first-responders and those who served.
The array of 911 American flags commemorates victims of the 9/11 attacks. The flags are available forto honor or memorialize active-duty military, veterans, fallen service men and women, first responders and heroes in our lives, organizers said.
After the event, purchased flags can be picked up or shipped to the purchaser. Proceeds benefit the Arlington Veterans Park Foundation. During the height of the COVID-19 pandemic in 2020, event co-chair David Curtis said he became even more grateful for the dedication of front-line workers. “Listening to people’s stories about the heroes in their lives gave me a much deeper appreciation for what people endure every day in hospitals, fire stations, law enforcement, and our military,” Curtis said in a prepared statement. “I knew I wanted to be more involved with this organization after that first year to help people honor their heroes.”
