Two firefighters fell through a collapsed floor during a fire in East Cleveland Wednesday morning.
Officers responded to a house fire in the 13400 block of Forest Hills Boulevard about 8:30 a.m., said David Worley, the East Cleveland fire chief.
Both were rescued by firefighters from different departments who helped at the scene. The departments included Richmond Heights, University Heights, South Euclid and Cleveland Heights. “He’s in good spirits,” Worley said. “Mutual aid is a wonderful thing. It is so important for all fire departments. With that and our training, we were able to make sure everyone was safe.”The fire was extinguished at about 9:30 a.m. Worley said the family living in the home was able to escape before fire crews came to the scene.“The whole front of the house is open,” he said. “You can see right through it.
