First Alert Weather Day issued: storms could pack a punch tonight, so Amanda has an updated look at your forecast + talks the latest impacts and timing!
Before any activity arrives, today will be a very warm day with highs in the low 80s under a mostly cloudy sky; it will also be a breezier day with wind speeds between 10 and 20 mph and occasional gusts above 20 mph. When afternoon turns into evening, we will be watching for a few spotty showers... these would be very hit-or-miss and likely will not pose a severe risk.
There is definitely a noteworthy risk of severe weather with this system with plenty of instability, wind shear, moisture, and lift in the atmosphere. The risk has increased to a level 3-of-5 for just about the majority of the WSFA 12 News viewing area.
